La Prière du coeur

La « Prière du cœur » est un exercice spirituel d'origine orthodoxe. Elle est connue grâce au fameux « Récits d'un pèlerin russe », chef-d'œuvre de littérature mystique. Elle consiste essentiellement dans la récitation litanique d'une simple phrase : « Jésus, fils du Dieu vivant, aie pitié de moi, pécheur », qui met en communion avec Dieu l'esprit, le cœur et le corps. L'auteur initie à cette forme originale d'oraison, fondée sur le rythme de la respiration, moyen d'union perpétuelle à Dieu par lequel l'homme retrouve son unité au cœur de notre monde moderne fragmenté. -- The "prayer of the heart" is a spiritual exercise whose origins lie in the Orthodox Church. It came to be known through that famous masterpiece of mystic literature "The Way of a Pilgrim". It consists mainly of a simple sentence in the form of a litany, "Lord Jesus, son of the living God, have pity on me", which unites body, mind and spirit in communion with God. The author introduces us to this original form of prayer, inspired by the rhythm of our breathing; a means of perpetual union with God wherein man may rediscover his unity in today's disjointed world.
